“It’s not about returning to how things were before an event (e.g. an injury), but about discovering a new quality of being.” – Sebastian Mayer
Sebastian Mayer, Munich, Germany
A quality of being – a form of learning and staying actively connected with life – has always been my vision. A book by Moshe Feldenkrais fell into my hands, and I knew: This is it. In 1988, I immersed myself in this work, which is based on the idea of self-responsibility and lifelong learning ability.
Further training and education followed: advanced training in osteopathy, certification as a Qigong teacher, training as a Focusing-oriented conversation therapist, shamanic training and certification as a mediator.
All of this merges into /contributes to my work, but above all, the experiences from hundreds of individual sessions, group courses, training programs in DAX-listed companies, coaching dancers, the seriously ill, and people with disabilities, as well as living and teaching in various countries.
In 2022, I founded the “Verein Akademie Gesundheit und Verbindung“ (Academy for Health and Connection). It serves as a framework to provide access to health-oriented thinking and action to people of all backgrounds. A goal is to learn from each other and support people’s competence and ability for self-help and self-responsibility regardless of financial, cultural, or regional circumstances. Based on his experience, Sebastian Mayer is certified for life as a member of the FVD, Feldenkrais Association Germany e.V.
